' , : Mr. Shinwell said , that the bill .'. was defeated, not by f considered reasoning, : but by a i; hotch-potch r ; of balderdash v, and puerility for which "that great political contortionist," Mr. Lloyd George, was primarily responsible. Mr. Lloyd George had proved himself'as, much a Tory as Mr. Stanley I; Baldwin; himself, the f only difference ; being that Mr. Lloyd George lacked Mr. Baldwin's honesty. Despite this defeat. Labour was determined;to bring about \ the nationalisation ,of mines, railways, and land.
