INTERVENTION BY JUDGE.

Australian and N.Z. C&oJo Association. Rec3. 11. p.m.) MELBOURNE, May 16.

Mr. Justice Powers, president of the Arbitration Court, has ordered the tramwaymen to return to work by Monday. He has also ordered' Tramway Board to consider an application from Gripman Howard for reinstatement.

The Judge added that either of the parties had the right to apply to the Court for a variation of the existing award. ' He allowed until Friday for either party to appeal for such a variation. i
