THE TAURANGA SOCIETY. BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN' COHRE3POKDENT. 1 TAURANGA. Friday. The annual meeting of the Tauranga Agricultural and Pastoral Association was held to-day, Mr. J. Tanner presiding. The financial report showed a credit balance of £32 12s 6d, while the value of assets over liabilities was given at £794.

The architect, Mr. H. H. Cleveson, submitted a comprehensive report and .plan for the improvement of the association's freehold land at Judea, adjoining the borough, and this was referred to the incoming executive. Officers for the ensuing year were elected as follows: Patron, Mr. C. E. Macmillan, M.P.; president, Mr. J. Tanner; vice-presidents, Messrs. M. D. Meares, and W. T. London * executive committee, Messrs. C. McNaughton, B. Phelp, J. Neal, J. K. Hantflton, H. G. Lever, R. Mann, T. Greena«vay, W. Harris, B. gladden, F. Keam, at. J. Gilmoro, A. Brown, J. London, Kg J. Sladden; ladies' committee, Mesdames J. London, A. Brewer, C. E. Gibberd, W. Tanner, C. A. Hille, L. Blomquist, J. Neal, W. J. Marsh, T. Castles, C. Smith, A. J. Mirriless, J. Murdoch, Misses Snodgrass, Little Mills, Norris; treasurer, Mr. R. Mann; secretary, Mr. F. Blomquist; auditor, Mr. R. L. Thomas. In recognition of his services to the association, Mr. T. Tanner was elected a life member. A motion was carried recommending the executive committee to take steps to proceed with the improvement of the association's land at Judea. At a meeting of the committee later the question was referred to a special committee, and it was decided to hold the show in the autumn.
