S. AFRICAN CRICKETERS. THE MATCH WITH NOTTS. Australian, and N.Z. Cable Association. (Reed. 5.6 p.m.) LONDON, May 15. In their match against the South Africans, in which the visitors scored 186 runs. Notts replied with 185 (Payton 16, Turland 29, Oates 33, Matthews 23). Bissett took two wickets for 52 runs, Pegler five for 47, Nupen two for 50. The South Africans' second innings closed for 236 runs (Nupen 33, Nourse not out 147).. Staples took five wickets for 78 runs. Stumps were then drawn for the day. The match was resumed in glorious weather and the wicket was improving. The attendance was 2000. South Africa s early batsmen failed to settle down, but Nourse came to the rescue with a chanceless display all round the picket. He hit 19 boundaries, mainly by vigorous driving and late cutting. ENGLISH county cricket. (Received 5.5 p.m.) Router. LONDON, May 15. Bowling for Kent against Northants, Freeman took five wickets for 12 runs, and Woolley five for 14. Sussex made 300 against Gloucester, Cox scoring 78. Gloucester scored 205, Cox taking six wickets for 66 and Tate four for 50. Lancashire met Glamorgan and scored 49. Spence took five wickets for nine, Ryan two for none, Mercer three for 27. Glamorgan made . 22. Parkin took six wickets for 6, R. Tyldesley four for 16. Lancashire in the second innings have made 137 for five wickets. Yorkshire, when 234 for eight wickets, declared against Cambridge • University. Sutcliffe made 108 not out. Cambridge scored 117.
