NEWS OF THE DOMINION.

PAUCITY IN ENGLAND. OCCASIONAL PARAGRAPHS. "I thifik we do not receive enough news of New Zealand in English papers," said Mr. - A. Edgecombe, British Trade Commissioner accompanying H.M.S. Hood, when speaking to Auckland business men yesterday. "We occasionally see a short paragraph about a horrid murder, but we ought to hear more about your political life and the advancement , of industrial and agricultural life. On the whole, the New Zealand newspapers give a far better idea of impressions of conditions at Home than the London papers do about New Zealand conditions. Spasmodic paragraphs are not sufficient for us, for the average person lacks imagination and is not able to piece together occasional paragraphs."
