QUEST FOR THE CRIMINALS
GOVERNMENT'S REWARD.
(Received 9 p.m.) Eeuter. LONDON, May 13. The Irish Free Stale Government has issued a proclamation repeating its offer of £10,000 for the apprehension and conviction of the men concerned in the Queenstown outrage. The proclamation now states that the wanted men are believed to be in the south of Ireland.
In March last a high-powered motor-car containing four men dressed as Free State officers drove to the pierhead at Queenstown one evening, and without- warning opened fire with machine-guns on a party of about 50 people, mostly British soldiers, who had just landed in a military launch. The < miscreants centred their fire on the soldiers. The motor-car then raced out or the town firing as it went at the destroyer Scythe, but failed to hit it. One British soldier was fatally wounded and died in hospital. One officer was seriously wounded. Seven men were dangerously hurt and six seriously injured. Three were slightly wounded. , Five civilians, of whom two were women, were also wounded.
