PRICES- AT AH ERE.
|;.". A sale of a portion of Mr. F. E. Day's well-known pedigree Jersey herd was held at the homestead, Tamahere, by the Farmers' . Co-operative Auctioneering Company last week. There was a good attendance of local buyers, but -many, prominent breeders from other parts of the Dominion who had intended to be present were unable to attend on account of the lack of trains. ;;; There was a fair demand for cows, and only a few -lots were passed in, but prices were not up to the owner's expectations. The- highest price paid was 77 guineas for White Phlox, given bv Mr. H. Moreland, of Newstead, while 67 guineas was paid by \ Mr. F. ; Veale, of Tamahere, for Gay time. .
