LEAGUE FOOTBALL. MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE. CHRISTCHURCH TEAM'S VISIT. The management committee of the Auckland Rugby League met last evening, Mr. W. J. Hammill presiding,': Correspondence was \ received from the Sports Protection League dealing with the Government tax on sport. It was decided to co-operate with the League in the endeavour to have the tax removed. The Canterbury League intimated its approval of the . visit to be made on Saturday, May 24, by the Christchurch Marist Club. T. Vercoe, of the Athletic Club, Hamilton, was regraded and transferred to New Lynn Club. F. Brake was granted a transfer from the Athletic Club to Devonport Club. A deputation was received from the New Zealand Rugby League regarding charges for Carlaw Park for the matches against England. It 'was decided to grant a special reduced rate. The committee decided to comply with the request from the football team on the Repulse to play a match against a local team on Victoria Park to-day at 3 p.m. FIXTURES FOR SATURDAY.
