, The • Northern Industrial District Grocers' Assistants and Drivers' Award, which has been filed by the Arbitration Court, sets forth that the ordinary hours of labour for grocers' assistants *. and drivers, employed within'a 25-mile radius from Auckland, shall be 48 a week. The minimum rates of wages for assistants and drivers ■ commencing in the trade at ; the age of 21 and over are 50s first year, 82s 6d second year, and ? 92s i: ; 6d for the third year. A boy starting at the age of 15, is to receive 17s 6d a week, rising ;by yearly increases to 92a 6d, after eight years' service. Overtime is :to be paid at the rate of time and a-half for the . first - three hours, with double rates thereafter.
