COALMINERS' WAGES.
MILITANT SECRETARY. A. and N.Z. LONDON, May 6. The coalminers' secretary, Mr. Cook, speaking at Pontypool, referred to the Court of Inquiry which recently sat to investigate the question of miners' wages. He said that unless the Court made some tangible recommendation the inquiry would have been «x waste of time. He had arranged to meet the coal owners on May 14. If the men's demands were not satisfied there would be only two alternatives—a strike or an appeal to the Government, which had the power to grant the just demands of the men.
