I j ' The annual report of th» New Zealand District, No. 84, of the Independent Order • of Recliabites, presented to the lest meeting fef th© district executive, re- ; vealed that the majority x>f the tents . showed an increase of membership,, the largest being the Star of Cambridge tent. The total district adult membership was . stated to be 920, and the juvenile membership 851. During the year two juvenile • tents were reopened, the Pride of Wai- , kato, at Cambridge, and Star of New > -Zealand, at Thames. The Juvenile Shield ; was won . for the second year in succession by Peep o' Day tent, at Hamilton. It was §hown that the funds of the district ex* ; ceeded £39,000. I During the year disbursements for bene- ; fits were made as .' follows; Sickness, • £989; funeral claims, £207; juvenile benefits, £44; maternity claims, £282; 1 medical payments, - £952; hospital accounts, £249. Payments to branches, on behalf of members whose contributions cease at the age of 65, amounted to £26. Proposals for the establishment of a district hospital fund are now before the executive. Day; district secretary, Mr. D. M. A. Bcdley; district treasurer, Mr. A. Jenkin; district guard, Mr. R. H. ; Gilmourpdistrict superintendent of juvenilo tents, Mr. W. B. Gilliam; members of executive, Messrs. A. Wilson, R. B. Brodie, E. Simon, and J. Wedding; auditors, Messrs. It. H. Horsley and H. A. Yockney; trustees, Messrs. J. M. Barr, J. Jenkin,'J.. Robertson, and S. E. Chappell.
