MEETING AT TRADES HALL.
DAILY MESSAGE OF HOPE. GOOD BEHAVIOUR OF MEN. The scene at the Trades Hall on Saturday was quiet and business-like. At the morning meeting, which was fully attended, the usual message of hope from the A.S.R.S. headquarters at Wellington reporting "everything really splendid; men solid and determined," was received with enthusiasm. At a meeting of the Auckland district council of the Alliance of Labour a resolution was passed to the effect that that organisation "affirms the justice of the railwaymen's cause, looks forward with confidence to their ultimate success, and pledges itself to render them every assistance in its power." The conduct of the men on strike leaves nothing to be desired. A prominent railway official said- on Saturday : "The men have been very well behaved indoed. There has been no intimidation, and we have had no trouble in any shape or form."
