NORTH SHORE TOURNAMENT. STURT JUNIOR CHAMPION. The Easier tennis tournament was continued at the Birkenhead and Noxtncoto Club's courts on Saturday. The only section completed was the men's junior championship, which was won by Is'. G. Star!, of Kemuera. Misses Evans and Haslii: will fight out the ladies' singles, while "ae men'* singles, A Krade, has been narrowed down to N. G. Sturt and J. F. Potter. Rain again prevented the final stages being reached in the other sections, which will be completed, next Saturday, when the club will aiso open the winter season on ltj hard courts « Ihe details of Saturday's games are — Junior Championship.—Semi-final: Sturt beat Grant by default. SCHOOLS CHAMPIONSHIPS. SEMI-FINALS AND FINALS. Th*» schools lawn tennis championships were continued at the Stanley Street courts on Saturday, when a number of semi-finals and finals were decided. Results were:— Boys' Singles.— round: Scott beat Lamb, —3. Semi-finals: Skeats beat Mains. 6— 63; Lamb beat Bowden. C—3. 6— The final between Lamb and Skeats was abandoned early in the afternoon owing to the rain. The first set was won by Lamb. &3, and thto second by Skeats. 7—5. The score when play was stopped was 7 all. Boys' Double*.—Final: Lamb and McDonald beat Minns and Newman, G—l. 6—2. G ; rU' Singles. —Fourth round: Miss P. The final of the father and son lawn tennis championship doubles was played at the Stanley Street courts on Saturday morning. The result was a win for A N. and N. W Bowden against T. and B. Macky.
