AUCKLAND SAVAGE CLUB.
36th ANNUAL MEETING.
The thirty-sixth annual general meeting of tho Auckland Savage Club was held ax. the Scots" Hall on Saturday evening, Dr. C. E. Maguire (Rangatira), presiding over a good attendance. The annual report showed the 1923 session to have been a record in membership and enthusiasm, with the finances of the club in a correspondingly buoyant condition. Fraternal visits had been paid to kindred clubs in Wellington and New Plymouth. The decease of Savages A. G. Hebden, J. M. Mennie and Dr. Humphry Haines, the last of whom had been one of the club's life-members and a highly esteemed vice-Rangatira, was greatly regretted. At the close of the session the membership numbered 508. In addition to tho Ariki, His Excellency Viscount Jellicoe, the following officers 'for 1924 were elected unopposed : —Rangatira, Savage J. H. Hutchison; vice-Rangatiras, Savages A. V. Hunt, Dr. P. H. Buck, A. I. Farmer, H. C. McCoy; secretary, and treasurer, Savage R. J. Lusher; auditor, Savage S. M. Barry; conductor of orchestra, Savage C. Muston; conductor of choir, Savage E. W. White.; pianists, Savages C. Towsey, T. Sparling and I. Lambert. By ballot the following were elected members of committee : Savages G. W. Allsop, J. C. Allum, A. B. Chappell, A. Coutts, T. T. Garland, J. W. v Hardley, J. Hogben, C. R. Massey, R. A. Singer and A. D. Trendall.
