PRODUCE FOR EXPORT.

NOT SERIOUSLY AFFECTED.

COAL A. 11 FREEZING WORKS.

AMPLE FOR REFRIGERATORS

"The export of dairy produce and meat will not be affected to any great extent by the strike," said Mr. T. Simson, general manager of the Auckland Farmers' Freezing Co., Ltd., last night. All the company's works, he said, had stocks of coal on hand to keep tho refrigerating plants going, so that produce in the chambers would not suffer. The stoppage of railway transport was not nearly so serious as if it had occurred at the height of the dairy season. Most of the remainder of the season's output was at Southdown and, if necessary, could easily be brought to tne port by motor-lorry. The end of season output in the Waikato would go to the Horotiu works, where there was ample refrigerated space. With regard to meat, any that was in store could remain there. In any case there was only one steamer fixed to load at Auckland in the immediate future. The slaughtering season was now practically ended except in the case of beef, of which there was very little offering.
