STAND ON HOURS ISSUE.
NO EXTENSION ACCEPTED. [by telegraph.—OWy correspondent.] WELLINGTON. Monday. Speaking at the Sunday night meeting hero Mr. M. Connelly,' head of the A.S.R.S. executive, said :—"We realise our responsibility to • the public. The workers of thid country constitute the main portion of the public and we. realise that behind this 'push' to get us hack to 48 hours per week is the unseen hand of the Employers' Federation. "Realising that we are prepared to stand or fall on the 44 hours week and we are looking for-the support of the public of this country in the. tight against the Government and the powers that be, 1 ask you notwithstanding what happens in the next few days to stay your judgment."
