AUSTRALIAN OIL.
THE QUEENSLAND BORE.
LONDON, April 8. Mr A. T. Jones, Minister for Mines in Queensland, states that cable advices have been received that the Oralla. oilbore has been encased, and is now waiting for the cement to dry. He had no information whether the oil produced is in commercial quantities. " I want to deny the allegations of the Australian press, particularly in Brisbane, that the State has 200,000,000 acres locked up, .and that it is permitting only one comnany to test the area. _ _ The Lander Oil Company, which made the bore, has no rights outside of 12,000 acres. This is allowed under the 7.922 Act. The Government was undetermined in its policy regarding the remainder of its 60 by 60 miles reservation. , .. «.
