RESISTING THE POLICE.
JACK DEMPSEY'S MANAGER. A. and N.Z. LOS ANGELES. April 18. Jack Kearns, manager for Jack Dempsey, was arrested and held for five hours on a charge of drunkenness. He pleaded guilty, and paid a nominal fine. The police, who investigated the doings of a noisy motoring party, declared that Kearns resisted stubbornly and showed fight. - - • -- - —-.
