W. Lewis. J For the year ended March 31, 1924"?;' 434 permits were granted for buildings valued at £276,433. In addition to this two schools, valued at £7802, borough premises valued at £500, and buildings for the Railway Department of an estim- - ated value of £20,000 were erected. The ; ' total value of. buildings erected in the borough for the year was therefore £304,735, which is easily a record. Of the buildings for which permits wer« % , granted 220 were private dwellings and 39 were business premises. j In the year ended March 31, 1923, 486 W permits were granted, representing • £213,573 in value, and in 1921-22 the figure was £279,097.
