EXECUTION OF SCOTT.
ARRANGED FOR THURSDAY.
HOUR FIXED AT 8 A.M.
. The execution of Robert Herbert Scott, th* Makaraka murderer, will take place at Mount Eden gaol on Thursday morning at eight o'clock. Scott was sentenced to death on March 18 .at Gisborne for the murder of a little girl, Gwendoline Murray, on! January 28, at Makaraka, near Gisborne. He confessed to the crime. The Executive Council decided not. to interfere with the death sentence., •'
The last execution which took place in Auckland was on < October 10, 1921, when Hakaraia Te Kahu was hanged for the murder of Patrick Richard Elliot, •■ at Ongaroto, near Atiamuri. ■• ;"v" .
