TO-DAY'S FORECAST.
GOVERNMENT REPORT.
The Government meteorologist reported last night as follows: —Present indications are for moderate to strong easterlies northward of Kawhia a;»d East Cape, and strong north-west to south-west winds elsewhere. Weather cloudy to overcast, with raijft in many parte, and probably cooler shortly. The, barometer is unsteady, but rising everywhere soon. ;
'.. HERALD SPECIAL FORECAST. The following weather forecast for 24 hours from 7 a.m. to-day was supplied to us by Mr. H. M. Vincent last evening : — Fine weather will probably continue over most of the Dominion, though cloudy and , unsettled at times, with scattered showers, especially in East Coast districts. New; Zealand fortunately escaped the intense tropical disturbance, which has now definitely passed to the east. Though barometric pressure has considerably -decreased, weather conditions were little affected by the passage of the disturbance. Easterly winds, moderate to Btrqfng, prevailing, and veering by south to west. Seas moderate. . Barometer, midnight, 30.05 in. j falling. RAINFALL RECORD.
