"MERCUTIO'S " LAMENT.

ABOUT THE COST' OF CLOTHES.

In conimentina*upon the- tailors' deputation to the Minister for Labour, " Mercutio," of the New Zealand Herald, whose humorous writings in the Herald supplement are enjoyed by many thousands of readers every week, ,is eadly regretful about the prices of suits in these daye of tailors' high prices, and Bays that the average man would like to be told where he could purchase a cheap suit. . , , Well, we can tell, him where he can make a saving of at least £5, and possibly as much as £6 on his next suit without sacrificing anything in the way of

fit, style or wear. ■ A certain gentleman told ft customer ot ours that he had given an order to his tailor for a suit which was to cost him £13 13e. But when he saw the kind of suit he could get made by Hunter and , Sons, for £7 10s, he almost shed " tears of blood." - /„. t i t_ * We have been telling people about these suits for years, but few men who are in the habit of paying from 10 to 14 guineas for a suit will believe it possible for anyone to make as good a suit for about half the money. They think we must be telling lies. They refuse to believe us. • If " Mercutio," or any of his thousands of admirers, are in the habit of paying from 10 to 14 guineas for a suit, we invite them to come and inspect come of our suits, and if we fail to convince them that Uiey have been paying several pounds too rrtuch every Lime they bought a suit we shall donate the price of the suit to- the War Memorial Fund. ; -, Ready-to-wear or made-to-order; it is all the same, we guarantee to make a hand-finished sac suit of the finest worsted for £7 10s.— every respect equal to the highest-priced suit you can buy. You can't get anything better. Call and ask us to prove our words. If you cannot afford even £7 10s, we have some very fine- ready-to-wear suits from £4 5s upwards, suits that you would pay nearly twice as much for anywhere elpe.
