ST. PAUL'S CHURCH.
PARISHIONERS' MEETING.
The annual meeting of parishioners of St. Paul's Anglican Church, Symonds Street, was held in the parish hall. The report and balance-sheet for the year ended March 31, showed gratifying progress. Services had been better attended with a very large increase in communicants. General offerings showed a substantial increase. The Symonds Street properties had been thoroughly renovated, and the verger's quarters greatly enlarged, at a total outley of £500. The total indebtedness on the parish was now £1947. The building completion fund stood at £1825. The required missionary quota had again been more than raised. New cassocks and surplices for men and boys were on order, at a cost of £50. ,Thc Sunday-school was fully staffed for the first time for several years, male teachers predominating. ' Appreciative reference was made to the innovation of sermons illustrated by lantern pictures. A flourishing young men's hockey club had been formed. The junior girls* guild had held a successful sale, in aid of foreign missions, and other sales had been held in reduction of parish debts. . ■""• Mr. A. I). Stanley was reappointed vicar's warden, and Mr. E. C. Thomas was re-elected parishioners' warden; Mesdames Hardie Neil and A. J. Stratford, and Messrs. L. J. Arm it age, Fairhead, S. W. Hadlow, A. .7. Horsley, H. F. j Jilling. C. S. Michael, and G. A. Webb were elected vestrymen.
