SUBURBAN ASSOCIATION. THE EASTER TOURNAMENT. The annual country -week, under the auspices of the Suburban Cricket -Association, promises to Lb Attended by more favourable circumstances than . hitherto. Although ..the tournaments in .the past have been very successful., .'. added interest has been .given the movement by the hearty co-operation of the Auckland Cricket Association, which has placed Eden Park at the disposal of 'thi suburban executive for the tournament. This spirit of goodwill, no doubt, Will be much appreciated by the followers of cricket locally,, and the fact that the A.C.A. has entered a team in the tournament is conclusive proof that the two associations axe working in harmony for the advancement of cricket locally. "Unfortunately, Wellington has found it impossible to send a team, owing to the lateness of the season. Their competitions were finished some weeks ago, and most of their players hare, taken up -winter games. Although ilheir executive has made every effort to keep faith wiith the suburban executive, it : has been compelled to withdraw at the last moment. The Christchurch Suburban Association >is paying its first visit to Auckland, and is reputed to have a very strong combination. The team will arrive fat Auckland on Thursday, and will practice at -the net« in . the > afternoon. ■• i Bodney team, holder of the Walker Shield, is playing a prclimnAry match at Pnkekohe on-Thursday against the Franklin eleven. This team can always be relied upon to give a, good isocount, iteelf.
