MT. ROSKILL ROAD BOARD.
LOAN FOR WATER MAIN. The Mount Roskill Road Board met last evening. There were present the chairman, Mr. G. E. Tansley, Messrs. Preston, Scarborough, Brewer, Cooper and Herd. The board confirmed the special order resolving to borrow the sum of £1250 for laying a water main along Mount Albert Road for the supply of water to the Wesley Training College lands. In reply to the Mount Eden Borough Council, it was agreed that if the council would repair the pathway in Landscape Road, the board would reimburse it to the extent of half the total cost, up to £40. The Auckland Power Board wrote, in reply to the board's request for a supply of electricity to the Dominion Estate, that a supply should be available in about six months. A petition was received from 19 residents in the Victory Estate asking for support, to their request for an extension of the electricity supply to that area. The board decided to forward the petition to the Power Board, with its full sup°Tlie inspector of health reported adversely in regard to two pig farmers in the district, and the board decided to prosecute in one case. _~_,. The One Tree Hill Road Board, in acknowledging the plans of the proposed drainage scheme for the combined boards, wrote that it was considering a proposal to drain through its own district, but was prepared to meet the Mount Roskill Board to discuss the matter further if i desired. It was decided to go into the | matter at a special meeting tomorrow I evening. "> ... taIn response to a petition from 38 residents in Richardson Road, May Road and While Swan Road, the engineer was instructed to prepare an estimate of the cost of providing a water supply. The building inspector reported that during the past fortnight building permits had been granted aggregating £4931 The clerk, Mr. J. „ Warren, submitted a statement showing the general account at credit £4088, the roads loan account £101, the water loan account £73, and the drainage loan account £14,881. Against these was a liability of £1000 for a motor-truck due to arrive. The board has no liabilities outstanding, whereas there are still rates unpaid to, the extent of £2891
