MARRIED WOMEN'S RIGHTS.
GUARDIANS OF CHILDREN. Renter. LONDON, April 4. In the House of Commons general support was given by membefs during the second reading debate to Mrs. WinCringham's Guardianship and Infants' Bill. The bill provides that the mother of every legitimate infant shall be its guardian jointly with the father, having equal authority, righfs and responsibilities. Mrs. Wintringham, who is tfiet liberal member for Louth (Lincolnshire), said the present position of married women was unfair as compared with that of unmarried mothers or separated wivea in respect to the custody of children.
Mr. Rhys J. Davies, Under-Secretary to the Home Office, said fhe Government would introduce into tho House of Lords a bill embodying the main principles of Mrs. Wintringham's bill Koon after Easter.,
