CHANCE OF A SETTLEMENT. A. and N.Z. LONDON, April 6. The dispute in the shipbuilding industry is assuming a brighter aspect. The Employees' Federation states that a conference between executive representatives and the Southampton local committee arrived at the basis of an arrangement. The conference i;eoommended that a mass meeting be held on Tuesday. It is understood that both sides are hopeful of a settlement at an early date.
