COMPANY SUING A. CLEAVE, SUM OF £8000 AT ISSUE. COUNTER-CLAIM FOR £1606. ■An. involved civil actio in regard to i Wairakei shares, and commission paid ; for the obtaining of subscription for certain shares in the company, will be ! opened before Mr. Justice Herdman in ! the Supreme Court this morning. The : plaintiff is the company known as Waij rakei, Ltd., which is seeking to recover | about £8000 from Mr. Arthur Cleave. i Defendant has entered a cennter-cLain, j for £1606, which he alleges is due to j him as balance of purchase money, and j for a further £1000 as damages," or, alter- ! natively, a declaration that the plaintiff j company is bound to undertake a cerj tain liability in respect of the purchase | of 1000 shares.
j The defence of Mr. Cleave is a com- | plete denial of plaintiffs' allegations, and a denial thai any of the moneys claimed by plaintiffs are owing by him. Mr. Richmond and Mr. Northcroft will appear for Wairakei, Ltd., and Mr. j Myers, K.C., and Mr. Luxford for Mr. I Cleave. It is expected that the action | will occupy the Court for some Jays.
