LONDON DAIRY MARKET. BUTTER AND CHEESE PRICES [BY TELEGRAPH.PRESS ASSOCIATION.] WELLINGTON. Monday. The weekly market report, under dale London, April 4, of the New Zealand Producers' Co-operative Marketing Association is as follows: The butter market improved during 'the early part of the week, but has again fallen back, with a slow demand. The retail price has been reduced to Is 6d per lb., -which should create a demand, and clear the present accumulation. To-day's' prices are: New Zealand, creamery, 150b to 1525; -whey, 120s to 1365. Australian, 140s to 1425; inferior, 116 a to 120 a. Argentine, 134« to 1335; inferior, 118s to 1225. Dutch, 160 ato 1665. Danish, 166 a. There is very little demand .for cheese owing to cold weather. A better demand is expected when the weather improves. The present stocks of. New Zealand cheese are being held off the market. There were 100,000 crates last season on the tame date; the total stocks now amount to 16,000 crates. Canadian new season's is now being offered at 78a. An increased supply of English and Scottish make is now coming on the market. The cheese at present afloat from New Zealand amounts to 200,000 crates, and if factories holding cheese off -the market release simultaneously, they will break the market badly. To-day s prices for New Zealand, both coloured and white, are 84s to Bt>s. English, factory, 76s to 84s. SHEEPSKINS in LONDON. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., are in receipt of the following cabled advice from their head office, Loudon, under date April 3. Sheepskins.—Good demand general, but rather irregular. As compared with last sheepskin sales closing rates, Merino combing skins par to 5 per cent, higher, clothing par, fine and crossbred medium combing skins 5 per cent, higher, crossbred coarse combing skins 7J per cent, to 10 per cent, higher, crossbred clothing skins 10 per cent, higher. TE KUITI STOCK SALES. * Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report having held their usual stock sale at To Kuiti on April 2. There was an average yarding of sheep, which met with fair competition at late rates. Cattle were penned in large numbers. beef and forward conditioned bullocks meeting with good competition at late rates, while store cattle were dpll of sale. Quotations are: Fat ewes, 25s 6d; fat lambs, woolly. 235; S.M. owes. 18s Id to 21s Id; cull ewes, 13s 6d; C-tooth ewes, small, 24s 7d; 2-tooth wethers,_ medium sorts, '23a Gd to 21s 3d; M.S. shorn lambs. 16s to 17s 6d. Light fat bullocks, £6 2s; fat cows, £4; 4year forward bullocks, £5, £5 6s, £5 10s, £5 15s; 3-year forward steers. £4 9s; store cows, £1 14s. £2.2 7s 6d. £2 19s.
