Business to rather quiet on the 'Auckland sharemarket on Saturday, though there was fair inquiry for investment stocks. In Government secuinJties New Zealand War Loans, 1938 and 1941, were quoted at £97. The 1927 War* .'Loan issue had inquiry at £97 10s, an/1 the 1930 issue at £96 ss. Soldiers' bonds and inscribed stock were sought atj £100 ss.' In banks New Zealands, available at 535, were wanted at 525. Thrjft-e were buyers for Australasias at £13 ls 'for Commercial of Australia at 28s 6d ( ' and for New South Wales at £40 3,05. In insurances New Zealands had buy ara at 29s 9d, sellers 30s 3d; South British, buyers 40s 9d, sellers 41s. In coals Taupiris, quoted at 19s, were sought at 18s 3d. In shipping Devonport Steam Ferry were inquired for at 26s 9d, sellers 27/3 3d; Huddart-Parkers had buyers at 4£fe 6d, sellers 435. Miscellaneous stocks practically unchanged at the jfvevious day's quotations. In mining Waiiiis changed hands at 31s 9d, further buyers offering the same figure, sellers 325. Waihi Grand Junctions, quoted at 4s. 6d, were wanted at 4s 3d. Moanataiaris had buyers at 2s 2d, sellers 2s lOd. . The following sale took place:— Waihi, 31s 9d.
