BAN ON SUNDAY GAMES.

SYDNEY. Mar. 20.

The Sydney City Council discussed the question of charges for Sunday tennis courts in public parks. An alderman stated that an'old Act still in existence forbids "the playing of games in public, places on Sundays with implements of play." The Lord Mayor thereupon ruled that the word "Sunday" in the scale of charges for tennis playing in parks must be struck out, thus leaving provision for week-day play only. A' Labour alderman protested against the tennis players being barred. A motion placing other games in a similar position will be moved.
