SUM OF £1250 TOWARD COST.

A number of property-owners adjacent to the site, of the proposed bridge over the Whau, to link Avondaie .'.nd Te Atatu, in a letter received by the Avondale Borough Council on Wednesday offered to subscribe collectively the sum of £1250 as a gift toward Avondaie's proportion of the cost of the bridge and approaches if the work were commenced by September I, 1925. The writers also asked the council to assist in pushing the scheme. It was resolved to thank' the property-owners for their offer and to inform them that, as a new council would be in office in the Course of a few weeks, the matter would be referred to it for favourable consideration.
