There was little change in the tope of the Auckland sharemarket yesterday; In New Zealand Government securities War Loans, 1938 issue, sold at £96 15s, closing quotations being (holders £97, buyers £96 10s. In Inscribed Stock the 1927 issue •was on offer at £97 10s without inquiry. The 1938 and 1927-41 issues were not quoted by holders, butwere inquired for at £96 10s and £97 10s respectively. Soldiers' Inscribed Stock changed hands at £100 15s, late holders asking £101, with buyers at £100 10s. In banks Australasias were in demand at £.13 Is without response. Commercials of Australia were quoted at 31s, no buyers responding. Nationals of New Zealand at £6 17s were asked for at £6 14s, and New South Wales were sought at £39 IQs, no holders quoting. New Zealands sold at the first call at 525, aijd at the second and third at; 52s 3d, , with more offered _ at the latter figure, buyers 525. Unions of Australia at £14 7b 6d were wanted at £14 4s. In insurance Nationals at 79s were sought at 765, while New Zealands had sale at 30s Id, with late holders at 30s 3d, buyers 30s. South British were inquired for at 40s 3d, with holders steady at 40s 6d. Auckland Gas, contributing, sold at 4s, with more available at that figure, buyers 3s lid. In shipping Hud-dart-Parkers changed hands at 435, with late holders at 43s 3d, buyers 435. National Timbers had sale at 22s ,3d, a later sale being effected at 225, the closing quotations being holders 22s 3d, buyers 21s lOd. In mining there was a sale of Waihis at 30s 6d, with late holders at 30s 9d, buyers at 30s 3d. Waihi Grand Junctions at 4s lOd were sought at 4s 9d.
