One of the samples has been from the slide formation, a.nd the other from the rise, driving on a stringery formation. The samples _ contain gold, but not in payable Quantities. We purpose Starting ft trial crushing on Monday from the reef we are now driving upon. This sample will prove the value of the ore body. We anticipate when we have driven about 10ft more that wo will be underneath the gold, which we got in the winze about 20 feet above. As far as can lie judged, this ifold is underlying the same as the slide Ohinemuri.— crosscut into the hangingwall of tho Cnnioola Reef System has been extended 14ft.
