AUSTRALIAN FLAGSHIP.

VISIT OF THE MELBOURNE. OPEN TO PUBLIC TO-MORROW. The visiting Australian flagship, H.M.A.S. Melbourne, which is lying at Prince's Wharf, will be open to visitors to-morrow afternoon from two o'clock to half-past five. The hospitality cf the city is being extended to Rear-Admiral A. C. Addison and the staff and crew of the cruiser. It was intended to take the admiral and his officers on a trip to tho Waitakere ranges yesterday, but, owing to the inclemency of the weather late on Thursday evening it was then decided to postpone the trip. In place of this outing, the visitors were yesterday taken for a motor tour of thei city and suburbs. The men of the ship are being given ample shore leave. They have tne free use of the baths and other facilities. A party of officers of the ship will leave for Rotorua this morning, and the admiral and the two staff officers will make the trip to the thermal regions early in the coming week. The Melbourne will leave this port on Wednesday next for Wellington, afterwards visiting Dunedin and Milford Sound before returning to Australia.
