MR. MASSEY IN VERSE.
JOURNALIST'S TRIBUTE. % Among some impromptu verses which were sung by Mr, Harrison Hill, at the annual dinner of the London district of the Institute of Journalists while Mr. Massey was at Home recently, was one concerning New Zealand's Prime Minister. He was unable to attend the dinner through indisposition, but, in his absence Mr. Hill sang the following lines to the air of "St. Patrick's Day!"— Now Massey wae born, in his dear Limavady, In the County of Derry, a. few years ago; But this great son of Ireland, when lie was a laddie. To far-off New Zealand, elected to go-. And well did ho .Prosper, great honours he won, And Britain, Great Britain, is proud of her son, And Britain's Dominions far over the aca Give their love and devotion, to sons such as he. She calls thorn to counsel, their best do they give. So here is to Massey. and long l may he live. And here's to New Zealand, whose Premier is he. . . , And the King's wide Dominions far over the V; # . # And here's to Old Ireland, with a hip. hip, hurrah! .... • „ . • And the brave, saintly mmp of Sir Patrick .
