SWILLING CONTEST.

HANNAN V. McDEVITT. The sculling contest for the Australasian championship, between P. J. Hannan and W. McDevitt will be rowed on Thursday afternoon on the Waitemata Harbour. The race will finish at a point between Queen's Wharf and Prince's Wharf. Roth men are training hard, Hannan from the Auckland Rowing Club's shed, and (McDevitt from the Waitemata Club's shed. Hanuan'a ■: trainer, Mr. George Wareham, has arrived from Blenheim to supervise his work.
