CANADIAN GRAIN CROPS.
RECORD YIELD IN 1923. Grain marketed along the Canadian Pacific railway in 1923 totalled 187,642,224 bushels, an increase of 33,324,619 bushels over any similar period in the railway's history. The "crop ' did not commence to move until after September 15. From September X to September 15 only slightly more than 20.351.972 bushels of wheat were marketed along the Canadian Pacific, and only 9758 cars were loaded, while from September 15 to November 30 there were marketed ' 167,290,252 bushels, 96,971 cars being j loaded, a daily average of 1492 cars. j From September 15 to November 30 ; the railway moved east from Winnipeg ; 94,421 loads, a daily average of 1226 cars. ! which means that a load was handled j east from this city every minute and a quarter in each 24 hours for the period mentioned. " ' The increase in bushels shipped was | 13,086,730, or 9.2 per cent, over 1922, and i 83.1 per cent, of {he total amount mar- i keted had been shipped by December 3. ; The famous C.P.B. Company carried a ; total tof 26.178 harvesters to Western ! Canada, including 5000 who crossed from j England.
