This is the Kent's final port and she will be despatched for London about next Tuesday. UNUSUAL SALE OF SIERRA. It very seldom happens that steamship owners, having once disposed of a vessel, ever buy her back, but such has recently happened in the United States. A further interesting fact is that the vessel concerned is the ex Oceanic liner Sierra, which is a sister shir> to * lie Sonoma and Ventura. ~ When these three vessels were built for tne Sari Francisco-Sydney service the Sierra was the first to visit this port. At that 3_a» time (in 1900) these vessels had two funnels p. and were painted white. Some time after, : *? nowever, they were practically rebuilt on the Present model. Company's steamer Kaikoura was despatched from Auckland at 4 p.m yesterday with a full cargo of New Zealand produce for London. : MAHENO LEAVES SYDNEY. < The Union Company's intercolonial turbine steamer Maheno sailed from Sydney at 10 a.m. yesterday with passengers, mails and cargo for Auckland. She is due here on Tuesday morning. CARGO FROM SOUTH. The Wingatui left Dunedin at 11 p.m. on Wednesday and was expected to leave Timaru about noon yesterday for Oamarn and Auckland. She is due here at the beginning of next week. WAITOMO LEAVES NAURU. The Union Company's steamer Waitomo sailed from Nauru Island on February C with a cargo of phosphates for Lyttolton. where she is due about February 19. THE DEVON. The Federal Line steamer Devon was j scheduled to leave Sydney on February, 2 i /or Brinbane. and thence to New Zealand ports, to load for London. CARGO FOR SOUTH. » The Karon was shifted yesterday evening from Chelsea to the King's Wharf, to complete loading for Southern ports. The vessel is to leave Auckland at noon to-day. THE NALGORA. The British India steamer Nalgora will complete discharge of her cargo from India this morning, when she will be despatched far Newoastle to load a cargo of coal for Singapore and Java. THE WAIRUNA. The Wairuna sailed from Newcastle at 10 a.m. yesterday with a cargo of coal for Auckland, where she in due about Thursday. After discharge the vessel will proceed from Auckland to Pacific Coast ports. AITATA. TO BUNKER WARSHIPS. The Kaitangata sailed from Westport at 11 p.m. on Wednesday with a cargo of coal for Auckland. The vessel is due here tomorrow morning and she will anchor in the stream where she will remain to coal the Japanese warships on Wednesday. MARAMA SAILED. The Union Company's intercolonial steamer Marama sailed from Auckland at 11.80 a.m. yesterday wish 327 passengers as well as mail and cargo for Sydney. The vessel is due at Sydney on Tuesday morning and is to leave there on Friday for Wellington. " TEE PAPAROA. : The New Zealand Shipping Company's liner Paparoa, which is due at Auckland from Liverpool early on Monday, will berth at the Queen's Wharf to disembark 253 passengers for New Zealand, and to unload a quantity of cargo for this port. The remainder of the vessel's cargo is for Wellington, Lyttolton, and Dunedin. THE MATAKANA. The Shaw, Savill and 'Albion steamer Matakn.ua is expected to complete cargo operations at the Quean's Wharf this evening, when she is to sail for Wellington. Lyttelton, and Dunedin, in continuation of her voyage from Liverpool. CANADIAN CONSTRUCTOR ARRIVED. The Canadian Government steamer Canadian Constructor arrived last night from Halifax. After medical inspection this morning the vessel will berth at the Queen's Wharf. Her cargo is for discharge at Auckland. Brisbane. Sydney, and Melbourne. LAS VEGAS DUE 3 A.M. TO-DAY. The Swayne and Hoyte Line steamer Las Vegas was due at an early hour to-day from Los Ange'lee. ,The vessel has a cargo of case oil. lumber, and general merchandise, for discharge at, Auckland. Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin. Melbourne, and Newcastle. She will berth this morning at the Western Wharf. MAKURA DUE NOON ON MONDAY. The Royal Mai! steamer Makura sailed from Sydney at midnight on Thursday for Auckland and Vancouver. The vessel has on board 121 passengers for Auckland and 145 for beyond. She is due here about noon on Monday, and she will berth at the Queen's Wharf. After loading produce and mails, and embarking passengers at this port the vessel is timed to resume her voyage at 8 p.m. on Tuesday.

RIMUTAKA ARRIVED SOUTHAMPTON. ,-The local office of the New Zealand Shinping Company has received advice that the linor Rirmvtaka arrived at Southampton on the afternoon of February 6 with passengers, mails and cargo from New Zealand. The vessel was despatched from Lyttelton on December 21. lONIC LEAVES SOUTHAMPTON. Messrs. L. D. Nathan. Ltd.. have received advice that the Shaw, Savill and Albion liner lonic sailed from Southampton on February 7 with passengers and cargo for New Zealand. She is due at Wellington where her passengers will disembark about March 17. Her cargo is for discharge at Wellington and Lyttelton. dXTGAB FROM JAVA AND QUEENSLAND The Colonial Sugar Company has received advice that the Ellaston Steam Shipping Company's steamer Ellaston sailed from Probolingo. Java, on January 80 with a cargo of about 3000 tons of raw sugar for Auckland. The Colonial Sugar Company's steamer Bona sailed from Cairns on Thursday night with a cargo of raw sugar for Auckland. NAURU PHOSPHATES FOR AUCKLAND. The Union Company advises that the Waitemata will be despatched from Newcastle about February 25 to load a cargo of phosphates at Nauru Island for Auckland and Bluff. The Waitemata will be followed by the Waihora. which has been fixed to load a cargo of phosphates at Nauru Island about the middle of'< March for Auckland. THE PUKAKI SOLD. A well-known steamer in New- Zealand, the Pukaki. has been sold to Eastern buyers. The vessel is to load a oargo of wheat at Sydney for Shanghai. She is to eail for that port about February 23. The Pukaki is an ex-Union Company's cargo steamer, and she was well-known on the New Zealand coast some years ago. The vessel was eventually sold to Australian buyers, and "he ran for a long time on the Australian Coaet, and in the Makatea and Nauru Islands phosphate trade. During last year an attempt was made to run her in the Auckland-Dunedin coastal trade In opposition to the Union Company. The vessel made a few trips in the trad®, but she was not patronised enough to make the venture pay. At the end of October last the vessel made her final trip from Dunedin to Auckland, and she was then sent to Sydney, -where she has been lying ever since. The Pukaki was built in 1887 at Dumbarton for the Union Company. Latterly she was owned by W. Crosby and Company, of Sydney. WITHIN WIRELESS RANGE.
