TRAGIC MANGERE ACCIDENT. FALL FROM MOTOR-LORRY. CRUSHED BENEATH: WHEEL. : A fat aOaccident occurred at Mangcre yesterday afternoon. ; A little girl, Thelma May Fortersfield, aged five years and four months, fell'beneath the wheels of a heavily J laden motor lorry and was instantly crushed to -death* , - '^ The child, whose parents reside at "Robertson Road. Mangere, was returning from school along Walmsley. Road, shortly after 2 p.m.. accompanied by her sister, eight years of age. The elder girl climbed on to a passing motor-lorry, owned by the Manukau County Council, and loaded with metal. Sh<* then attempted to pull her younger sister up on to the vehicle, but the child slipped and fell, one of the wheels passing over her and killing her instantaneously. The body was taken to. the Manukau Hotel, where an inquest will be held at 9.15 a.m. to-day. '
