Stone, whose 1 case had been dealt wi*h at a previous J meeting, appeared and made a statement j regarding the circumstances under which ' he had been convicted and fined in the ' Magistrate!* Court at Napier. A previous . resolution of the council deciding not to ' grant Stone a license for a period of [ three months was rescinded and the foli lowing resolution was carried:—"After - hearing Stone's personal statement regarding the circumstances leading up to his recent conviction he be granted a license and that ha be notified that such license . is subject to review at any time/''
