TOWN BOARD AFFAIRS.
[BY TELEGRAPH.OWN CORTIKSrONDENT.] RAGLAN. Tuesday. A special meeting of the Town Board was called for the purpose of appointing an architect and engineer for the public •works about to be inaugurated in the town of Raglan. Messrs. Chitty and Cray were the architects decided on. For tho position of engineers Messrs. Lockie Gannon and Co. were selected. The new recreation ground is set in an amphitheatre of the hills, with the little bay crossed by an esplanade on the north side. From the hills it formed a pretty picture when tho equestrian sports oil New Year's Day, and the athletic sports the next day, took place. Quito a number of cars were parked on tho ground. The Anglican Christmas bazaar was a successful affair. A real Father Christmas put in an appearance with his bag in a motor-car. The day's enterprise resulted in nearly £100 being raised for the church funds.
