The announcement that the coal dispute on the West Coast had been settled was followed by a consideration of the question of the prosecutions directed by the Government to be taken against the men and the employers. The cases were set down for hearing next week. Mr. Balderstone, secretary of the West Coast Miners' District Council, to-day telegraphed to the Minister for Labour asking that the prosecutions .should be abandoned, as a complete settlement had been arrived at.
