DRESS FOR SCHOOLBOYS.
AUTHORITIES NOT AGREED. KING'S COLLEGE QUESTION. "i: •"The question of dress for; schoolboys I I prefer not to touch upon-— is* danger~ ous ground," skid the Governor-General. Lord Jellicoo; amid hearty laughter, at the. King's College prize-giving yesterday. "From press reports' arid front the actingheadmaster's report/ I see that all authorities in Auckland are not agreed upon the subject." The reference in Mr. J. U. Collins* re., port stated r that the matron's staff "although toed to, the utmost in the influenza epidemic, came out successfully •without a single relapse among the boys. One has only to look at King's boys in their working school uniform—which I for one hope will never be changed as long as the school lasts—with bare arms, neck and knees, to know that this is the typo of dress most aptly fitted for a climate such as Auckland possesses. I repeat that one has only to look at these boys to sen at once that their physical well-being' i* carefully attended to, for they -will bear comparison with any other boys in th« Dominion. The health of the "school has, on the whole, been excellent."
