The full extent of the damage by earthquake on the frontier of Colombia and Ecuador is not yet known. Heavy shocks were felt along the southern frontier of Colombia and the village of Carlosama was destroyed. Pasto, Ipiaies, Turquerras and Ibarra, which are in a direct line, were severely shaken, and serious damage was done at Ipiaies. The volcanoes of Cumbal and Chiles are in eruption, and the earthquakes are attributed to their activity. , * The road from Cumbal to Ipiales is obstructed by great landslides. Many people are , homeless and lack food and shelter. Mild shocks continue.
