r, HOPE OF THE SOVIET. ; RECOGNITION EXPECTED. PROPAGANDISTS IN BRITAIN. T}s Telegraph——Copyrignt A. and N.Z. • LONDON. Dec. 16. The Daily Telegraph states that the Russian Soviet trade delegation to England is actively preparing for the moment, which it considers imminent, when a Labour Government will put Russia on an equal footing with other civilised countries. Numerous meetings, at which prominent English Socialists were present, have been held with the object of creating an Anglo-Russian . Entente. The political observer of the' Telegraph says that important meetings are taking place at the Foreign Office in Moscow in connection with the possibility of a Labour Government in Britain, which the Bolsheviks welcome with delight. I The committee of the Third International believes that oven a short-lived British Labour Government , would immediately recognise the Soviet Government. Bettor advised diplomats point out that no British Government would concede recognition without demanding substantial trading advantages in return. The Soviet regime has now been weakened by the protracted financial crisis, which there is no end in sight, and would be at a disadvantage for such , bargaining.
