. Business was quiet on fbo Auckland sharemarket yesterday, though there was & fair demand for investment stocks. In Government ; securities there was a sale of New, Zealand , Inscribed Stock, 1939, at $96 X7b 6d, lafe sellers quoting £97 ss. New Zealand War Loans, 1930 and 1938, had inquiry at £06 10s, holders . not responding. .. Soldiers' Bonds were sought at £100 10s, , and Soldiers' Inscribed Stock at £100,12s 6d. In bank* there was inquiry for Australasias at £12 17s 6d and for Nationals of New Zealand at £6' 14s. New Zealands were quoted af 60s. 6d, and New South Wales at £40. In insurances New Zealands, available at 29s 2d, were sought at 28s 9d. -South British, quoted at 38s Bd, had. inquiry at 38s. In coals Taupiria were wanted a€ 18s _ 6d, sellers'' quoting 20s. Waipas, available at 17s 6d, were inquired for at 16s 9d. Miscellaneous . lines remained practically unchanged from the previous day's quotations. In mining . there was inquiry for Waihis .at 27s 6d, -sellers 285.. > Waihi Grand Junctions had lateinquiry at 5s 3d, sellers not quoting. New Waiotahis ■ (con.) changed hands at 6d.
