LONDON, Dec. 14.

The annual report of the British Olympic Games Association states that the French Committee recently- decided to build an Olympic village adjacent to tho Stadium, for housing athletes. The association agreed to support the scheme if it were found to bo sound and practical. The Dominions also expressed a desire to • participate. When, however, the Housing Committee realised that a number of loading countries had decided to accommodate their athletes in hotels ana chateaux, also that the French Committee was not making itself responsible for building a village, it decided to abandon the scheme, and excellent accommodation had been found. The association had also written to the Dominions offering to do everything in its power to assist in finding accommodation » for their athletes. - - 1 '; The report adds that the Dominions heartily agreed to the proposal that the athletes from the Mother Country and the Dominions should enter th© Stadium on the opening day as one great Empire team, even if they had subsequently to compete as separate nations.

Carr, the Australian sprinter, has been appointed welfare officer in charge of migrants sailing by the Ormuz on January 5. Interviewed, ho stated that weather conditions in England were adverse to keening fit, and there were no training facilities in the winter months. ;; His intention if selected for the Olympic Games was to concentrate training in Australia. Thus far be had received no official advice of his selection for the Australian team. . f
