TE AROHA AFFAIRS.
[BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] TE AROHA. Saturday. The winner of the Waitoa queen carnival, Irene Hallett, was crowned queen of the realm" at Waitoa on Wednesday evening. At the dose of the last meeting of the Te Aroha Borough Council the services of Mr. Fred W. Wild, who has completed 20 years as town clerk, were recognised. The ex-Mayor and ex-councillors were present, and Mr. Wild was presented with a cheque for £25. on behalf of the ratepayers, and a case containing a, silver tea and coffee service and a wristlet watch from the Mayor and councillors, the exMayor and ex-councillors. Many complimentary speeches werse made.
