SEA SCOUTS' TROPHY.
GOVERNOR-GENERAL'S 'GIFT. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT. J CHRISTCHURCH, Saturday. . At a meeting of the Dominion Executive of 4ho Boy Scouts' Association, it was reported that' a circular had been sent to air sea scout- troops stating that the Governor-General had arranged to present a silver trident to the best* allround sea scout troop in the Dominion. It has been decided to ask, Lieut.-Com-mander Tibbs, headquarters' commissioner for. sea scouts, to inspect every sea scout troop annually, and that the award of the trident would depend on his report/ ' ■ . .# It was''reported that Major Sandford, of New Plymouth, had been appointed to take char re of the Dominion troop of scouts, which is going to the British Empire Exhibition. The v secretary reported that during the last six months no fewer than 21 new troops had been formed 'in New Zealand. . These new troops meant an addition of '505 scouts to the number already enrolled. , »
